About CozyKilowatt
CozyKilowatt exists because of a mess: the federal energy tax credits ended in December 2025, the money moved into 50-plus separate state programs, and most of the internet still hasn't noticed. Homeowners deserve one place that tracks what's actually true, state by state, with dates on it.
How we verify
- Program details come from official sources — state energy offices, the Department of Energy, utility program pages — and every page names its source.
- Each state page carries a "last verified" date. If funding runs out or rules change, we update the page and the date, not just the page.
- When we haven't confirmed something, the page says "being verified" instead of guessing. An honest gap beats a confident error.
- Cost figures are ranges from real installation data, not manufacturer brochures. Where costs vary by region, we say so.
How we make money
Through display advertising and affiliate links, disclosed on every page. If you buy something through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Advertisers and affiliate programs never see our content before publication and never influence what we recommend. Full details: affiliate disclosure.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or run lead-generation forms. No pop-up asking for your phone number so "contractors can call you."
- We don't pretend to have tested equipment we haven't. Product write-ups based on specifications and aggregated owner experience are labeled as such.
- We don't let a rebate deadline pressure you. If a program is closing, we'll tell you — and also tell you what to check before signing anything.
