Editorial policy

CozyKilowatt publishes what U.S. home energy rebate programs actually pay, state by state and utility by utility, with the official source and the date each figure was checked. These are the rules the site works by. The step-by-step method is on the method page.

Sources

• A rebate amount, an eligibility rule or a deadline is published only from the official page of the body that pays or administers it, read on the date shown on the page.
• Third-party guides, contractor pages, directories and AI-generated answers are never used as sources. When they contradict the official page, the contradiction is logged publicly.
• A state row that we have not read on its official page is labelled "not yet verified" and is never counted or described as confirmed.
• A figure that a program publishes only through contractors is attributed as such and carries a visible note to confirm it in writing.
• A tax credit is described as expired only on the authority of the revenue department or the statute. Where the official position is unclear, the page says "ask a tax preparer".

Independence and money

• The site is owned by Steliano Impex SRL and edited by Ionel Glogoveanu, who has no financial relationship with any utility, contractor, manufacturer or government program.
• The site does not run display advertising or affiliate links today. If either starts, it will be disclosed on every page where it appears and in the affiliate disclosure before the first link or ad goes live, and it will never change a figure, a status or a date.
• No paid links, sponsored articles, guest-post exchanges or paid traffic. No advertiser or program sees content before publication.

Corrections

• Every correction — to our own pages, to our registry, on an official page or in a third-party guide — is published in the corrections log with what was claimed, what the official source says, the source, the date and the re-check.
• Corrections are never deleted. A wrong correction is repaired with a new entry that says so.
• A correction also appears on the page it concerns and in the site feed. Reports of errors are answered before any other mail: ionel@cozykilowatt.com.

Dates and freshness

• Each program page shows the date its figures were last read on the official source. The sitemap date of a page changes only when its content, its structured data or its links change.
• A deadline moves to "passed" only after we re-check it; a promised deadline without a date is listed as "undated", not estimated.
• Each page keeps a visible history of significant changes and of the corrections that concern it.

Readers' data

• No forms, accounts, newsletters or lead generation. We do not sell or share visitor data.
• The only analytics is Google Analytics, used to count visits, governed by the privacy policy and by your choice where consent is required.

Reuse

• The registry, the deadlines and the corrections are open data under CC BY 4.0: reuse the tables and downloads with a link to the source page.
• Articles, text and graphics remain © CozyKilowatt.

What we do not publish

• Reviews of equipment we have not tested; write-ups based on specifications say so.
• Estimates presented as official figures, or figures without a source and a date.
• Content on any subject other than home energy rebates, credits and efficiency programs.
