Privacy policy
The short version
We have no accounts, no forms that store data, no newsletter and no ads. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help; in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland it runs only if you allow it. Our host, Cloudflare, processes the technical data every website needs to deliver pages and stay secure. If you email us, we use your message to reply. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Who is responsible
CozyKilowatt is published by Steliano Impex SRL, Romania, the data controller for the processing described here. Contact: hello@cozykilowatt.com.
What we collect and why
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location (country and city), device and browser type, and time on page. We use it only to learn which content helps readers. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features are switched off: Google Consent Mode keeps ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization denied for every visitor. Legal basis in Europe: your consent.
- Hosting and security (Cloudflare). Delivering a page requires processing your IP address and browser details; Cloudflare also uses them to block attacks. Each visit also asks Cloudflare for the visitor’s country, so the page knows whether to show the consent notice; we do not store that answer. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- Email you send us. Your address and message, used only to reply and kept only as long as the conversation needs, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
- Calendar, RSS and data files. Our deadline calendar, RSS feed and data downloads are public files. Your calendar app or feed reader fetches them like any web page; there is no sign-up and we do not know who subscribes.
Cookies and storage
Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which Google sets to
expire after up to two years. They are set only after you allow analytics (Europe) or, elsewhere,
unless you opt out below. We also store one small item in your browser, ckConsent,
to remember your choice; it is not a cookie, is never sent to us, and disappears when you clear
your browser data. The site works fully with cookies blocked.
How long we keep data
Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months after your last visit (a new visit restarts that period), as set in our account; after that, only aggregated reports remain. Emails are deleted when the conversation is finished and nothing requires keeping them. Cloudflare keeps its own technical logs under its privacy policy.
Where data is processed
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, including the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. framework, which the European Commission recognizes as providing adequate protection. See Google’s data transfer frameworks and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Your analytics choice
You can change your choice here at any time, whether or not you saw the notice. Turning analytics off also deletes the Google Analytics cookies from this browser. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and never start analytics.

Advertising
There are no ads on this site today. Before the first ad is shown, this policy will name the advertising partner, link to its privacy policy and describe the consent tool it uses, and the effective date above will change.
Affiliate links
This site carries no affiliate links today (see the affiliate disclosure). If we ever add any, they will be plain links only: no tracking pixel and no third-party script loads on our pages before you click. After a click, the merchant or network may set its own cookie on its own site so it knows the visit came from us; we would name that network here, link to its privacy notice and update the effective date before the first such link appears. We would receive only aggregate reports, never personal information about you.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable form, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Write to hello@cozykilowatt.com; we answer within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority — in Romania, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), or the authority where you live. U.S. residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
This site is written for adults making decisions about their homes. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
