BGE’s $1,600 water heater coupon ends October 31; Maryland’s rebates now fit on one printable page
Published . Facts read on the official source on .
BGE’s instant water heater coupon ends Oct. 31, 2026; last free check-up Nov. 30 (request by Nov. 6). Every Maryland program now on a one-page CC BY 4.0 sheet.
Two sentences appeared on BGE’s heat pump water heater page between our October 8 and October 9 source checks, and we read the page in full on October 10, 2026: “The BGE instant rebate offering will end on October 31, 2026. The last day to use your coupon and receive an instant rebate on eligible heat pump water heaters will be October 31, 2026.” The rebate is up to $1,600, one per customer address; the coupon is the path taken at the register at Lowe’s or The Home Depot. The three other ways to claim it — BGE’s Product Advisor, a participating contractor, or an online or mail application — carry no date on the page. The same day, BGE’s Quick Home Energy Check-up page gained a cut-off: the last check-up for 2026 is November 30, with appointments requested by November 6, and a sentence no BGE page carried before — “BGE is awaiting a decision by the Maryland Public Service Commission about extending our energy efficiency programs into 2027.”
Both dates join the deadlines register with calendar files, and both are on the first Maryland rebate sheet: one Letter page with every program that pays in 2026 — EmPOWER through Pepco, BGE and Potomac Edison, Electrify MC, the federal status — each with its amount, who qualifies, the end date and the official page it was read on, all re-read on October 10. The sheet is generated from the same data as the Maryland page, so it is re-made whenever a source changes; it is published as PDF and PNG under CC BY 4.0, with the credit line printed on it.
What this means for you
If you are a BGE customer buying a heat pump water heater at Lowe’s or The Home Depot with the instant coupon, do it by October 31; after that, the application path still pays up to $1,600 but has no published date, so do not assume it lasts. Request the free check-up by November 6 if you want a 2026 visit. And for the first time, the whole Maryland picture — amounts, conditions, deadlines, sources — can be printed and handed to a client or a contractor on one page.
