PSE lists its heat pump rebates on its own pages: $1,500, $2,400 Boost, $4,000 income-qualified from gas

Read in full October 4: PSE’s conversion and fuel-switching pages give the amounts, the Trade Ally/REP rule and a 30-day application window; our “reported” flag lifted.
We read Puget Sound Energy’s heat pump rebate pages in full on October 4, 2026 and published a utility page for them. Until today our Washington page carried PSE’s amounts with a flag: they had reached us through contractors, not from a static PSE page. The flag was wrong about the source, not the figures. PSE’s electric resistance conversion page states $1,500 for a qualifying ducted or ductless heat pump and $2,400 with Efficiency Boost; its Moderate-Income Fuel-Switching page states $4,000 for income-qualified single-family customers who replace PSE natural gas heating. Both pages require a PSE Trade Ally or Recommended Energy Professional and say an out-of-network or do-it-yourself installation does not qualify.
The pages also carry rules we had not published: no existing heat pump serving the main living area; ductless systems must be AHRI-certified variable-speed inverter units of at least ¾ ton with one head in the main living area; ducted systems must lock out resistance backup, with 35°F recommended; the gas program requires the old equipment removed or cut and capped and the application filed within 30 days of installation. Three further PSE pages — a $1,500 heat pump upgrade, a $1,500 hybrid rebate and an $8,000 Duvall program — were read only in summary today and are listed as such.
Our Washington page now links the PSE page and no longer calls the amounts reported; the earlier flag stays in the page history as the honest record of what we could verify on September 27.
What this means for you
If you are a PSE electric customer heating with baseboards, wall heaters or an electric furnace, the $1,500 (or $2,400 Boost) rebate exists only through a PSE Trade Ally or REP — confirm the company at 1-800-562-1482 before signing. If you heat with PSE gas and your income qualifies, $4,000 is the number to ask about, with a 30-day clock on the application. Neither rebate has a published end date.
