Seven Con Edison pages read Oct. 5: heat pump $7,000 standard, $10,000 weatherized, $11,000 in a Disadvantaged Community; geothermal to $40,000; Weather Ready closed.
On October 5, 2026 we read in full seven of Con Edison’s residential rebate pages and published a Con Edison page. The air-source heat pump page no longer carries a single amount: a single-family home that removes or disables its old heating system gets $7,000 at the standard rate, $10,000 at the Weatherized Tier, and $8,000 or $11,000 in a state-designated Disadvantaged Community; apartments $3,500 to $5,500. Keeping the old system with integrated controls pays $2,500 ($4,500 in a Disadvantaged Community), and a later decommissioning adds up to $4,000. Everything is capped at 70% of project cost, 85% in a Disadvantaged Community, and runs through a participating contractor who deducts it from the invoice.
The Weather Ready page — Con Edison’s insulation and air-sealing program — now opens by saying it is no longer accepting applications; Westchester customers are sent to NYSERDA’s Comfort Home Program and Con Edison promises residential weatherization incentives for 2027 with no date. The residential hub, read the same day, still shows a “Get up to $4,000” tile, says air-source goes “up to $10,000” and geothermal “up to $35,000”; the geothermal page itself pays $25,000 to $40,000. The AI answer above search results for “con edison rebates” repeats the hub, $4,000 weatherization included. Both are in our corrections log.
Our New York page, which described Con Edison’s incentive as $8,000 and $10,000 since September 22 from the statewide program description, now carries Con Edison’s own table; search engines still cache the air-source page with the old $8,000 / $10,000 figures, so the change is recent and undated. The geothermal, Energy Exchange, thermostat and water heater incentives are on the same page.
What this means for you
If you are in Con Edison territory, the number to ask a contractor about is not $10,000 but which of four amounts your home qualifies for, and the Weatherized Tier is worth $3,000 more on a single-family project at a time when Con Edison’s own insulation program cannot get you there. Do not sign on the hub’s figures; the program pages are the ones the contractor is paid from.
